Why is the Odor of Snail Rice Noodle Unpleasant?

Snail rice noodle is a popular instant food that is usually cooked directly in a pot and has a good taste that many people enjoy. However, it has a strong odor caused by the pickled bamboo shoots inside. After pickling and fermenting, the bamboo shoots produce a strong smell, but they taste delicious. So how long does the odor of snail rice noodle take to dissipate?

What causes the odor of snail rice noodle?

The odor of snail rice noodle is caused by the pickled bamboo shoots inside. Luosifen is a specialty food from Liuzhou, China, known for its spicy, refreshing, fresh, and sour flavor. What makes it more delicious is its unique soup. Snail rice noodle soup is made from natural spices such as snail meat, galangal sanna, star anise, cinnamon, clove, various peppers and flavoring, with a sour and spicy taste. The really unpleasant thing is the pickled bamboo shoots. Fresh sweet bamboo shoots are usually used to make pickled bamboo shoots, which are washed, sliced, pickled, and fermented in a can for about 20 days. This makes the sour bamboo shoots have a strong smell. Therefore, many people think the strong luo si fen smell is very unpleasant.

How long does the odor of snail rice noodle take to dissipate?

The odor of snail rice noodle can disappear in 3 to 5 hours, and there are some ways to make the smell dissipate faster. After cooking the luosifen, it can be eaten in a ventilated area such as on a balcony or near a window. Some of the luo si noodles smell will escape outside, which can reduce the time it takes for the smell to dissipate.

When cooking luosifen, open the range hood to help the smell spread. The smell of luosifen comes mainly from the sour bamboo shoots. The amount of sour bamboo shoots can be reduced according to personal taste. In this way, the cooked luosifen will not smell bad, but it will lose its inherent flavor. After eating, it is recommended to clean the utensils used to cook luosifen as soon as possible, seal all the garbage bags, and throw them into an outdoor trash can. For the luo si fen smell, you can spray some air freshener indoors and open the windows for ventilation to make the odor dissipate faster.
